The Age of "Because"
"Argument is poor thinking because it's largely negative, anti-explorative, inefficient and the two parties tend to focus on the "worst 5%" of their opponent's point of view"
""value-sensitivity" - we may reject an idea but the more creative among us would still hold on to and explore the helpful concepts inherent in an impractical suggestion"
"Every creative idea is logical in hindsight, but invisible in foresight"(!!), thus the need for lateral thinking (e.g. challenge, provocation, concept-exploration, etc.)" (alwynlau.blogspot.com)
Is argument really a poor thinking? In mathematical equation, premise/argument 1&2 is used to get a conclusion. So, does this means conclusions made with arguments are usually the negative conclusion?? Well, to me, it depends. To me, it goes back to the very early stage which is asking WHY when an argument is made.
In life, we are faced with challenges. We have the need to overcome our hatred for something or for someone. It may be wise to find the root of reasonings but it is also unwise at certain points. What is it is a feeling of hatred or dislike towards a person?? Izzit important to torture ourselves and find out the reasons why we dislike the person??
Perception, emotion and behavior.... Will a change in perception leads to a change in emotion and a person's behavior?? Well, it comes to this question.. Which of human perception is the best to be applied in life?? To me, the answer lies in ur mind, ur faith/trust and ur experiences.. =)

Are these questions important? Most of all are these answers relevant to our life? Indisputably, these are the questions that help to improve our life. Some scientists spend all their life trying to solve these problems in order to find the truth…..about…..about everything? Deep down in their heart, are they asking themselves “Why I existed? What is my purpose of living?” Can they find answers from there? Even if they understand every single thing in the universe, will they be able to understand their purpose in life? Is it worth to spend our whole life searching for truth. Maybe that is just one of the many ways to understand life itself. Could the purpose of life be as simple as living our life to the max and loving the people around us? Is there any meaning in life if you lose all your family and friends in exchange to the understanding of the unknown black hole?

Just Another Sleepless Night
It is 1:49am in the morning. I do not feel like sleeping. Despite wanting to live a healthy lifestyle, sometimes I tend to indulge myself. Some of my assignments were being done during these very periods where my creativity is at it peak and having the prefect condition to brain storm or do multiple level thinking. Not to mention the silent really completed the equation for my brain to work.
Tonight…or this morning, the things running in my mind is about the relationship between me and others, peers in particulars. What does it takes to mix around in our peer groups, to have fun with them, to get involve, to share about our inner feelings, to accompany each other…..Is it about common interest? Is it about same subjects taking? Is it about language, culture or all the background thingy?
Maybe not all of us can mix with everyone around us and there is no need to do so. Different people might need to have different friend. Being someone friend or having someone as a friend is not an easy job and require great deal of commitment, acceptance, trust and most of all, love. When we started to establish a relationship with a person, we are basically trying to love and to accept that person. If he feels the acceptance, then he will do the same for us. Thus, a friendship is being established.
Friends doesn’t come easily, time can help us to built friendship and to recognise friends that are going to accompany us throughout our life, graduate with us, attending prom with us, go snorkelling and BBQ together, attending each other wedding, hug each other’s wife, tap each other shoulder and enjoy delicious food together. Life is about love. By loving our friends through sharing, caring, being sensitive, connected, and communication, we are able to have better moments in every part of our life. Human are emotional being, we need to love and feel loved in order to be happy and thrive.
Here is the call, let us talk to one another with our heart and share our love with them. By doing this, we will have a group of people that are like us, always be there for us and encourages each other along our life. Then, we as a stardust in the pale blue dot (earth) will not be alone and lonely in the mist of the universes, anymore.
Friends forever,
Tam, Alex

A letter to Saw Jin
Dear Saw Jin,
It has been a long time since I last saw your laughter. When I looked into your eyes, I can see the friendship inside of you that is so real and approachable. It makes me forgot about all my overdue home work and peka. Time passes, I am now no longer in high school, and life in university is actually much freedom and relaxing. However, I no longer can see that kind of laughter among my classmates. The class population is small, but the classroom is big, so big that the spaces between each and every one of us is very large. I missed your laughter, I missed the relief period that we can all chat ignoring the discipline, I missed the fellowship, and I missed the time where a conversation is so easy to make.
I would not want to go back in time. Life is about moving forward. Whenever I faces barrier with other people, I remember your laughter and there is where I get up and move on again. Let’s put down our competitiveness and pride and make university a better place to love and be loved.
A friend that missed your laughter,
Tam, Alex
